If you get code E1 on your Life Smart heater, take and blow out your filter on rear on heater, and blow out inside of heater from front and back as good as possible, mine did this E1 and all is good now!

In addition to this wide range, these units also vary in salt usage and regeneration speed. To reset the unit, remove the transformer from the power outlet, then let the WaterBoss rest for 30 seconds before plugging the transformer back into the wall.

This cycles the water softener's power, sometimes enabling the controller to find the home position once again. To access the controller, remove the valve cover assembly. Identify the controller, a square platter with a disc in its center -- it lies atop a double-cross-shaped platform known as the drive end cap. Ensure that the four tabs of the drive end cap are secured on the controller to resume normal operation and eliminate the error code.

If reseating your WaterBoss's controller or resetting the appliance doesn't correct the "E1" message, your water softener may have an obstruction in the valve body. This and other complex repairs that cause the code to persist even after you carry out basic troubleshooting procedures call for professional assistance from WaterBoss. Contact the company's customer service department by phone at or submit a written query on its official website.

When purchased new and registered via the website, WaterBoss water softeners are covered under a limited warranty that extends for three years for controller-related issues and up to 10 years for valve, tank and brine cabinet problems. Infrared heaters are commonly used to heat places like patios or individual rooms in a house. You can troubleshoot a heater when it will not turn on or does not function properly.

If the heater will not turn on, make sure the power source is working properly. If it is an electric infrared heater, check to make sure the unit is plugged in and that the cord is free of damage. Check that the electrical socket is working properly by plugging in a known working appliance and checking that the circuit breaker is working. If you are using a gas-fired porch heater, check to make sure the propane is filled, properly connected and that the gas valve is turned to open.

Make sure you hear the gas coming through the heater before your try to ignite it.

If you do not hear any gas coming through to make sure the valve that releases the gas is working properly. Most gas valves will give you a series of clicks when they are working correctly. If you are using a porch heater, check all the hoses for leaks to ensure that the heater is getting the proper amount of gas. This will also prevent injury. To check for a leak, take a spray bottle and fill it with one part soap to three parts water. Spray this liquid along the connecting hoses.

Turn on the gas. If any bubbles appear along the hoses, you have a leak in your system. If you do not see any leaks and your heater is still performing improperly, take off the hoses and blow them out. Over time debris, such as dust, may get stuck inside the hoses, causing the flow of gas to be inhibited.

Check the front of the heater for any clogs. Make sure to clean the front grill of the heater regularly to keep heater's air flow from being restricted. If you do not get any air flow, make sure the fans are turning.

If you have just turned on the heater, give it time to warm up, as the fans will not turn on immediately. If the fan is moving slowly, clean the air filters according to the instruction manual. Clean off the rear vent as well, vacuuming if needed.

Re: Dometic thermostat code E1 I agree it sounds like a loss of 12V. But if it's not a general 12V problem as suggested, then take a look at the connections to the thermostat.

The cover comes off pretty easily. The single zone model in our Landmark has 3 wires that are secured to the circuit board by small screws. You might have a loose wire. I think the later builds may have a telephone jack connection where it's a bit harder to tell if the wiring is ok. Re: Dometic thermostat code E1 Lites working ok also bedroom air ok.
